Designing in a historic environment requires a deep respect for the urban context. When working in historic city cores, we carefully balance the mass composition, the choice of materials, the height levels of the surrounding development, and constructive cooperation with heritage conservation authorities.

Design in Heritage Zones

We have experience with design in heritage zones (commemoration of the original church within the square area) as well as in strictly protected urban heritage reserves (conversion of an enclosed garden into a public park).

Relocation of the Heritage Structure

Special challenge for us was the revitalization of the village green, where we addressed the relocation of a heritage-protected small bell tower to a new position. In accordance with the requirements of the heritage conservation authorities, we prepared an operational survey documentation of the existing condition, a detailed proposal for the restoration of the structure, and a precise methodology for the relocation itself.
